Course Description:

What if the messiness and unknowability of art is exactly what society needs right now?

The course ‘Exploring Societal Art’, gives a multidisciplinary introduction into how art and culture reflect, interact with, and influence social issues, cultural dynamics, and community engagement. As a student you’ll collaborate in international teams across borders and disciplines to explore the arts and cultures’ role and potential in social activism and the ways in which art can foster dialogue, challenge norms, and contribute to social change. But, where's the line between highlighting injustice and exploiting it, and when does participation become manipulation?

Join in for this engaging and collaborative course this spring to learn more, and to raise new questions about society and art!
