Course Description:

INTRODUCTION OF THE FORTHEM GREEN UNIT

FORTHEM (Fostering Outreach within European Regions, Transnational Higher Education and Mobility)  is a network of nine multidisciplinary public research universities in Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Romania and Spain. Green Sustainability is one of the main focuses of the FORTHEM Alliance which moves towards a sustainable and green European university. For this purpose, a Green Sustainability Unit has been made up of Academic and Administrative experts from each partner University as a central contact point for activities and requests concerning environmental sustainability within the Alliance. One of the objectives of this unit is to elaborate a common Code of Conduct, which results from the review process of current practices and policy across partners University. Selected interns will have the opportunity to actively participate in this project, coordinated by an international team of experts.

OBJECTIVES OF THE INTERNSHIP:

•Analytical Skills
Interns will interpret data on how the Code of Conduct (CoC) is perceived and adopted, using feedback from workshops and campaigns to enhance communication strategies.
•Research Skills
They will conduct desk research, interviews, and surveys to gather and compare best practices in communicating and implementing sustainability codes in European universities.
•Communication Skills
By creating multimedia content and facilitating workshops, interns will improve their ability to communicate clearly and inclusively across different academic audiences.
•Time Management & Organization
Interns will plan and coordinate events and campaigns, learning to manage priorities and deadlines through practical use of organizational tools and teamwork.
•Problem-Solving
They will address real challenges in promoting the CoC, developing solutions adapted to diverse institutional and cultural settings.
•Continuous Learning
Interns will engage with new tools, concepts, and intercultural experiences, fostering adaptability and growth in the evolving field of sustainability communication.
